The CatholiCity Message

Volume II, Number 34 – September 9, 1998

Dear CatholiCity Citizen,

Some pretty cool items today.

1. CATHOLICITY LIVES!
We made it! CatholiCity Lives! CatholiCity Lives!

2. HEARTS A'FULL WITH GRATITUDE!
On behalf of all the workers here, it is our great pleasure to thank the hundreds of brave, generous, loving citizens who saved this dying cyber-city with your generosity and courage. We say: Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

Thank you, Jesus. Thank you, Mary. Thank you, CatholiCity Citizens.

3. GOOD VERSUS EVIL
Yes, if you reflect upon it, the Forces of Good, huge underdogs, needing a miracle, and so marched bravely onto the battlefield against the daunting Forces of Evil. You now know the results:

Notre Dame 36, Michigan 20

4. SAINT JOSEPH IS THE MAN
A few weeks ago, we invited many of you to join me in a Novena to Saint Joseph. We prayed for each other's intentions. The personal intention of your author, which seemed hopeless at that time, was answered today (yesterday, really, but it's late/early in the morning as he writes this), on Mary's birthday, September 8th. The intention was separate from asking God to provide for CatholiCity. What a day!

5. IT AIN'T OVER 'TIL IT'S OVER
If you were planning to send a gift to help save the City, but haven't yet, please don't let today's good news stop you–if only for the sake of all the CatholiCity Citizens who made great financial sacrifices to deliver this amazing miracle on Our Lady's birthday. We still need your help. Every dollar extends the life of CatholiCity well into 1999. Throw good money after good money! Back a winner! Jump on the bandwagon!

By the way, today's great news depends on those of you who so courageously pledged monthly gifts continuing your commitment for the next 12 months. We know you guys are good for it.

6. CITY SURVIVALIST NOTES
We'll have more lovely, wonderful, spectacular, excellent details about the Come from Behind Victory of CatholiCity next week. Most of the mail in donations should be in by then, too. The whole staff here is worn out after several tense days of watching the response gather steam, and from personally answering your emails and letters until past 10 pm on Tuesday night.

JOKE OF THE WEEK
Question: How many Catholics does it take to screw in a light bulb? Answer: One. ('just made that up. Think about it.)

Thank you. We're proud of you. It really is your city. It always has been, but now you have the proof.

Yours in Christ,

Your Friends at CatholiCity
