The CatholiCity Message

Volume II, Number 41 – October 30, 1998

Dear CatholiCity Citizen,

We feel cruddy about this, but due to snafus in our framagins, the CatholiCity Message will be shortened two weeks in a row. We do promise you that we'll have a spectacular offer on a hot new Catholic book–exclusively for CatholiCity Citizens–next week. Let's pray, let's laugh, let's read a quote...

1. 10,000 SUBMISSIONS
On the day a man left the seminary after a brief stint in the early 80s, he found this prayer of submission in the back of a missal. He prays it every morning and it never, ever fails to console him. Please join us now as we pray... "Dear Lord, I don't know what will happen to me today, I only know that nothing will happen that was not foreseen by You and directed to my greater good from all eternity. I adore Your holy and unfathomable plans, and submit to them with all my heart for love of You, the pope, and the Immaculate Heart of Mary. Amen."

JOKE OF THE WEEK
A little boy is standing at a front door jumping up over and over trying to push the doorbell. The parish priest, on his daily walk, spots the child and goes over to him. "Can I help you with that?" the priest asks. "Sure," the kid replies. So the priest pushes the doorbell. After a second, he asks the boy, "What do we do next?" The boy replies, "Run!"

QUOTE OF THE WEEK
"You will learn more from your friends than you ever will from books. Choose your friends wisely and make Jesus the first."
Matthew Kelly in "Call to Joy."

See you next week. Please pray for us. We pray for you. That's how it works.

With Mary,

Your Friends at CatholiCity
