The CatholiCity Message

Volume IV, Number 8 – April 4, 2000

Dear CatholiCity Citizen,

It's here. Wanna help Jesus change the world? Wanna inject some high octane into your same-old same-old Lent? Wanna hear a young priest who preaches with the power and authority of the Holy Spirit? Then you need to hear our new free recording. Jesus needs you to give this talk to others. Trust us: "Confession" by Father Larry Richards works. It's destined to be an all time classic. For example, someone close to the Mary Foundation called me today. He had given a preview "bootleg" copy of our new talk to a friend who had fallen away from the Faith. The guy went to Confession. Then the guy made three copies and gave them to three friends. All three went to Confession. You're next.

Today, 20,000 families and individuals are receiving this offer, and we am asking that every single one of you respond right away. (You!) We're giving away 20,000 matches, and if all of you light them, the fire will enflame millions! (We've seen it happen. We gave away one tape in 1991–the very first Mary Foundation talk–and the fire is still raging!). So...

1. REQUEST ONLINE
There are two ways you can receive copies of the first new Mary Foundation audio in two years, "Confession." First, you can go to our homepage and make your request online:

WRITE IN REQUEST
You can also write to the Mary Foundation (CatholiCity's parent organization) and ask for copies. Free. No strings attached. Free shipping. Donation optional (made out to "The Mary Foundation"). We'll ship 'em the day we get your letter:

2. A FRENCH WORD
"Raison d'etat." This is a French phrase that literally means: "The Reason to Be." Two years ago, you, the Citizens of CatholiCity, kept this website alive. We hung on. We're starting to grow again. We've shucked and we've jived. CatholiCity has a Reason to Be.

To help save souls.

We don't believe in chance. We don't believe in accident. We don't believe that God doesn't care about you, or our kids, or your neighbors. We don't believe that you are reading this email because you've got nothing better to do. We believe you were placed here by God to do God's will. We believe that Catholics have two needs that are not being met in our god-ignoring culture:

1. The need to feel normal, moral, hopeful, and good.

2. The need we all have to sacrifice for others.

3. NINE YEARS OF ASKING
All across the country, when we hear from Catholics, we see signs of despair. Many otherwise wonderful Catholics have given up on Changing the World, which is another way of saying they've essentially stopped making a selfless, sacrificial effort to influence the hearts and minds of the people they meet at work, at play, in their parishes and neighborhoods. They don't believe the battle can be won. So they don't fight anymore. They are deceived by ole' sparky. Don't be one of them.

Think. Believe. Pray. Fight. Win.

Win.

Get Confession then give it away like you've got nothing to lose but heaven and the people in your life (Love them! Love them with the Truth!) have nothing to lose but hell. As a CatholiCity Citizen, this is part of your calling. You are a Catholic because somebody baptized you, called you, prayed for you, gave you a book or tape or URL just when you needed it. "Give freely what has been given to you." Jesus said that. We are asking. The Mary Foundation is giving.

4. MAGNETIC TAPES? MAGNETIC BULLETS
Please don't forget to be a Cyber Soul Warrior by forwarding this Confession Message to everybody in your Address Book. A few minutes of your time could translate into thousands of souls choosing heaven.

5. WE GET GET GET EXCITED
CatholiCity Lives! CatholiCity Citizens are the Best! We love you guys (and you gals, you wonderful, lovely, gals!).

QUOTE OF THE WEEK
"Receive the Holy Spirit. If you forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven; if you retain the sins of any, they are retained."
Jesus, to His Twelve First Priests

JOKE OF THE WEEK
Contrary to popular belief, it wasn't the apple on the tree that got us banished from Paradise. It was the pair on the ground.

LET'S PRAY
"Dear Jesus, always and everywhere and in every way and at all times, despite our laziness, fatigue, and sin, we promise you that we will struggle to love, we will fight to the finish, find reserves in Your grace, and that we will do Your will, until we breathe our last. Help us. Without you, we are nothing. Amen."

See you next week. Get CDs and tapes. Give them to others. Pray. Email this message to everybody.

Yours in Christ,

Your Brothers and Sisters at CatholiCity
