Take heart. Keep praying. We can tell you've been doing an excellent job of forwarding these messages to your personal address books because we've received several messages from your more skeptical friends. Cool! Irrational criticism never bothers us, and we'll be sure to answer them with courtesy and truthfulness. Keep up the good work. 1. COINCIDENCE? MAYBE
Here are some interesting "coincidences" about Florida, the Church, and the elections:
-Tomorrow is Thanksgiving. To Whom, as a nation, are we directing our thanks? To God Almighty.
-Sunday, the latest "big deadline" day on the worldly battlefield, is the Feast of Christ the King. Enough said.
-December 12th, the day that the election results are supposed to be submitted to the Florida legislature, is the Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe, Patroness of the Americas, to whom we all have been praying since before the election.
-Florida is the home to the first Catholic parish established on our continent.
2. HERE COMES THE SON
Do these things mean we know what the outcome of the worldly election battle which reflects the supernatural battle we've been writing about? We have our gut feelings, but to be candid, no, we don't know how it will turn out. Remember, we told you in our last message that the evil one always makes a big, loud bang before being forced to leave. Do not be disturbed or discouraged by the noise. It's always darkest just before the dawn, and Florida is, after all, the Sunshine State.
3. SIMPLE PRAYERS ARE THE BEST
Keeping the Canadian election in mind as well as the American, let's all 23,000+ of join again in prayer for God's will:
"Dear Father in Heaven, we thank You for the blessings You've bestowed upon the United States, and we ask You to continue to send Saint Michael and his angels to fight for the soul of our beloved country. With great confidence we consecrate the worldly and supernatural battle taking place in our country to the Immaculate Heart of Mary for the salvation of the greatest number of souls. Amen."
"Saint Michael the Archangel, defend us in the day of battle. Be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray, and do thou, O Prince of the Heavenly Host, by the power of God, cast into hell satan and all the evil spirits who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen."
"Our Lady of Guadalupe, Patroness of the Americas, pray for us. Saint Katharine Drexel and Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton, pray for us. Saint Thomas More, Patron of Politicians, pray for us. Saint Joseph, Patron Saint of Canada, pray for us. Immaculate Mary, Patroness of the United States, pray for us. Jesus Christ, King of Kings, we adore you!"
You guys are the best. Like many of you, we're going back to our hometown, for Thanksgiving, to eat that big white birdmeat. We will even attend a 20th High School Class Reunion. The choices we made in high school strongly determined the place we're in today. Today's supernatural battle is no different; the choices we make today–to pray, to fast, to remain vigilant, to exercise our God-given civil and religious rights–will affect where we'll be twenty years from now, so continue to take courage.
