The CatholiCity Message

Volume XI, Number 1 – January 18, 2007

Dear CatholiCity Citizen,

And we've got a doozy for you to kick off our 11th year as the most popular Catholic email message, well, ever. Lots of stuff, bang, bang, bang. And link, link, baby. It will be worth your while to click on a few items, so keep your finger on that mouse...

1. NEW CD NEXT TIME YOU READ THIS
Yes, sir (and ma'am), the very next time you open your CatholiCity Message, you'll find information on how to order an all-new free Catholic CD from the Mary Foundation. Here's a hint: the title begins with "Seven Secrets of the..." So keep an eye on your in-box.

2. HAVE YOU SEEN THE NEW CATHOLICITY?
When our oldest son first saw the all-new CatholiCity homepage, he said, "It's the Catholic Google." He meant it was clean, simple, and easy. Take a gander yourself, and may we suggest you take a minute or two to click on some of the Online Catholic Resources. Did you know we have the Catholic Encyclopedia, the Catechism Simplified, and Introduction to the Devout Life online?

3. FOR PRIESTS AND RELIGIOUS EDUCATORS
If you're a priest, religious, deacon or lay religious educator who has used Mary Foundation CDs in your parish or ministry, we very much need your endorsement for a major real-world parish marketing campaign we're putting together.

Please, briefly tell us true stories, in your own words, about how our materials have helped souls in your parish or pastoral work. Be sure to include your title, town/state and parish/ministry. By sending this email, you're giving us permission to use your story in our marketing materials. What would you say to your fellow pastors and religious educators? Here's the address:

This powerful, time-tested device in every doorway of your parish combined with your commitment to helping your brothers and sisters know the truth about the faith will have a huge impact on the lives of real people you see every Sunday. You can see this exciting new tool for evangelization here:

5. SUCCESS AND GRATITUDE
Our 2006 Christmas Appeal was a success, and we want to thank every one of you who made a financial or prayer donation, and we also want to thank the many folks who donate by mail or credit card on a regular basis without even being asked. You're all the financial backbone of this apostolate. Besides our daily prayers for you and your loved ones, our best means for thanking all of you is doing the best job we can do.

6. MARCH FOR LIFE 2007 and ANGEL IN THE WATERS
The 34th annual March for Life in Washington DC is only a few days away. Here's their homepage:

So it's appropro to let you know (hey, that rhymes) about a gorgeous, affordable, and supremely effective pro-life children's book from our friends at Sophia Institute Press. It's called Angel in the Waters and in less than five minutes you can read the entire book online here before deciding to order:

7. UNCLE MAX AT 113
On January 8th, Saint Maximilian Kolbe turned 113 years old. More than any other saint, he remains the inspiration for the Mary Foundation. As is our custom, we celebrated with a birthday cake, homemade this year. Alas, it's been difficult to convince the ladies down at the bakery that our beloved Uncle Max could be such an age. Yet, he is alive, isn't he? By the way, he would thrilled if you joined his worldwide apostolate, the Militia Immaculata, by consecrating your heart to Immaculate Mary:
