Feast of the Immaculate Conception

2009 CHRISTMAS APPEAL GOAL: $79,000

Dear CatholiCity Citizen,

We only ask for your help once a year. Without your generosity CatholiCity.com cannot touch millions of souls all over the world.

Because of you, we have given away more life-changing Catholic CDs and books over the past three years than ever before.

We need only $79,000 to keep CatholiCity.com online in 2010 -- to pay for technology, office space, salaries, insurance, and so on. Despite increased costs from suppliers, we have been able to lower our goal from last year.

It takes less than two minutes to make an online donation:

We know that you have a good heart and that you love helping other souls receive the truth about the Faith. Just imagine meeting one of these souls in heaven! This year we are offering three wonderful gifts of thanks:

CHRIST THE HIGH PRIEST MAGNET FOR EVERY DONOR
Every donor, regardless of amount, will receive a gorgeous Marek Czarnecki 3x4 "refrigerator" magnet as a powerful daily reminder of Jesus during the Year of the Priest. (More on the famous Czarnecki icon below.)

LAPEL PIN WITH YOUR $25 GIFT
With your Christmas donation of $25 or more, you will also receive a golden High Priest lapel pin. These premium-quality pins were custom made for CatholiCity and have been blessed by a priest. Wearing it is a tasteful way to evangelize. It can also make the perfect gift for a loved one.

ART-HOUSE PRINT WITH YOUR $50 GIFT
Along with your lapel pin and magnet, you will receive the stunning 8x10 icon of our Lord when you make a donation of $50 or more. Custom-designed on premium-grade stock for framing, including integrated double matting, it will surely inspire prayer and bless your home down through the generations.

SUPPORT THE 24 HOUR CONVERSION TOOL
CatholiCity is always there for you, your family, friends, and most importantly for anyone searching online for the truth -- every minute of every day since 1996.

In fact, we started this annual appeal at the request of CatholiCity Citizens fourteen years ago. Some of you may remember our wildly original City Landscape homepage, and back then we called our Christmas appeal the Tax Drive (tongue in cheek, of course). Can you find another city where everything is free and taxes are optional -- and in any amount you determine, large or small?

Nowadays, we have come to think of it as an exchange of gifts at Christmastime, so please be generous. We know you are going to love our gift to you -- the High Priest icon -- along with making CatholiCity available to souls for another year.

HOW MUCH SHOULD YOU GIVE?
We know a handful of you can make an especially large one-time gift of hundreds or even thousands of dollars.

Please discuss this with your spouse. Ask Immaculate Mary if she wants you to make a particularly generous sacrifice to help bring souls to our beloved Catholic Faith.

Of course even a modest gift of $2, $5, or $10 when combined with thousands of others will help us reach our goal. May you have a blessed Advent, a holy Christmas, and a grace-filled 2010.

With the Holy Family,

Timothy Harrison
Managing Director

P.S. Here is more background on the amazing Czarnecki High Priest icon:

BACKGROUND: THE CZARNECKI HIGH PRIEST ICON
Gaze into the eyes of Christ on this icon for more than a few seconds and you will feel its mystical heavenly impact. Imagine this holy image adorning your kitchen, office, lapel, or bedroom as a daily reminder to pray. You can view it here:

Officially adopted by the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops for the Year of the Priest, the icon shows Christ with a golden pelican, the ancient symbol of self-sacrifice, over His heart. The borders contain a grapevine anchored by an altar prepared for a Mass. To the left and right are depictions of Melchizedek of the Old Testament (You are a priest forever) and Saint John Vianney, whom Pope Benedict XVI declared the Universal Patron of Priests when he announced the Year of the Priest (June 2009 through June 2010). Jesus also holds a Scripture reminding his priests to lay down their lives for his sheep.
