Evangelizing Badly

"Anything worth doing is worth doing badly."
G.K. Chesterton

by Bud Macfarlane

Have you evangelized this Lent? It is worth doing badly, as Mr. Chesterton points out. Just because we are not holy or persuasive or outgoing does not mean we cannot evangelize badly using highly effective, laughably inexpensive Mary Foundation CDs. Let our riveting speakers and God's grace do the hard work.

All sorts of people are showing up at the parishes near your home this time of year. Keep in mind that devout Catholics need to be evangelized too. For the past twenty years, Mary Foundation CDs have helped inspire everyone, from fallen-away sinners to daily-Mass saints.

Did you know a person is much more likely to take a free CD from a display (which the Mary Foundation will send you free of charge) than if you handed it to him or her directly? It's human nature: we all prefer to make our spiritual choices in a quiet way. You can see the free Mary Foundation CD display here:

Please, I urge you, help the Mary Foundation lose money by using our bulk order donation option--for as little as 50 cents donation per CD. Peanuts. Sure, it costs more than 50 cents, but we're partners, Pardner. We make the stuff and you give it away. Shipping is always free and same day. Here is the Mary Foundation's bulk order page:

The only thing standing between people converting, destinies changing, souls going to heaven, and even babies being born is your decision to make a normal human effort to place a display of free Mary Foundation CDs in the back of parishes near your home. God's grace will do the rest.

We gently recommend that if you are undecided, sit down "in the kitchen" with your spouse or your best friend and discuss the benefit to souls of this kind of "spiritual work of mercy" this Lent. Think. Pray. Decide. Work. We call it "TPDW" or "Tipdaw." No we don't. I just made that up. But still. And when you get to heaven and meet Jesus, He will introduce you to the souls you touched in Lent 2011 (Remember our previous message: Your Best Lent Ever!).

When you order online, your free Church Displays will be offered automatically when you enter 20 or more CDs with your order. Thanks:

It would also be totally cool if so many of you ordered CDs that "Team Lepanto" in our shipping department actually broke a sweat over the next few days. They are one cocky bunch of bananas. Shipping nerds--just like elves, but without the pointy ears, runes, or JRR Tolkein seal of approval. Hammer 'em, will ya?

If Catholic CDs are beer, then our free novels are moonshine. That's because a novel completely engages a reader's imagination for twenty-five to thirty hours. That's a lot of good evangelizin' badly. Oh, haven't read one yet yourself? Here's where to order:

Finally, I invite you to pray the following prayer, which tens of thousands of Mary Foundation benefactors have prayed before you, in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit...

"Dear Guardian Angels, guide us every moment and in every decision we make this Lent. When we evangelize, help us by going forward to the guardian angels of the souls we can touch, so we can all work in concert to do God's holy will. Help us get back up when we fall. Please let Jesus know we are sorry for not living up to our promises. Whisper in our ears through our rightly-formed conscience. Guide, guard, govern, and protect us. By the way, we love you. Sorry we have not paid attention to you. You are so patient, and we know you have good manners. Remind us to invite you into our lives. Amen!"

Thank you. It is all about the souls.
